Installing Tips
Tip #1 --> Are you constantly having to straighten out your stretcher pipes while making those long stretches? Use a carpet tube around your stretcher poles to keep them from bending.
Tip #2 --> Do you get complaints from customers that say they feel the tackstrip underneath the carpet? Tap down those spikes with your hammer after you're finished installing wherever that might be an issue.
Tip #3 --> Don't install any floor covering over a subfloor that doesn't meet manufacturer specs. You might lose a little money now but you'll save a lot more money and headaches down the road.
Tip #4--> If you're having to remove old glue down carpet, cut the carpet in strips to make it easier. The harder it's stuck, the smaller strips you'll want to cut.
Tip #5--> Save yourself a lot of time and hassle by undercutting door jambs when installing new underlayment, laminate, hardwood or tile. A few minutes spent undercutting not only saves time but looks a lot better.
